Not even gonna front. I’m proud. I am not a graphic designer by any means, but after some messing around, learning, and listening, I’m genuinely loving this cover I’ve created.
Special thanks to my fam and friends for their very helpful critiques of earlier iterations of this design—they’ve helped make this cover worthy to share and I’m forever grateful!
So, what’s next?
We’re getting into the nitty-gritty, friends. My editor and I are this close to finishing our final draft. After that, I’ll be doing this whole blurb, ARCs, and early review thing the publishing girlies be doing.
I’ll continue to post more updates here and on Instagram, and I’ll even share one more excerpt. And then?! It’ll be pre-order time before you know it—so, stay tuned!
So far, this whole process has been arduous but, shockingly, quite fun and affirming. I’ve been on my own time, pacing myself, making sure each step feels right before moving forward. I don’t trust I could do all of this in the same way had I gone traditional. Nor could I have gotten this far without the amazing support from family, friends, and you! So thank you all for your care. I feel it and it’s feeding me as I do my best to deliver a book I’m truly proud of in this very indie way.
